WEDO Summer Workshop 2010 bigger than ever

Anticipation is rising for the beginning of annual WEDO Workshop 2010.

Held in its by now traditional venue in Pilas (near Sevilla) between July 20 and August 2 and organized by the Fundación Barenboim Said in collaboration with the Daniel Barenboim Stiftung, it will be a place for intense rehearsals, discussions, symposia on Middle Eastern issues, but also a chance to reconnect to friends across national dividing lines.

This year, the group convening in Pilas is bigger than ever: in addition to the members of the touring orchestra that will embark on a concert trip in Spain and Latin and South America, almost 40 talented young musicians were invited to form a rehearsal orchestra that will deepen the pool of highly qualified musicians for our tours in the coming years. We are especially glad that a large number of musicians in this new formation are students at the music education projects in Israel and Palestine.
