Sponsor a chair!
A very personal way to keep the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra on tour is to sponsor one of its chairs. A donation of EUR 10,000 will keep your name on the chair for two years and help us continue our mission to keep Arab-Israeli dialogue alive through music in the most direct way: by putting your name on one of the positions that add up to form the orchestra.
In this program, we are glad to announce the “Ambache Orchestra Principal Cello Chair”, named after the Ambache Orchestra and its founder Diana Ambache, for whose generous support we are deeply grateful.
For the past years Hassan Moataz el Molla has held the Principal Cello position. Hassan was also the solo cello in several performances of Pierre Boulez' “Messagesquisse".
We are also grateful to Dennis Severis, a long-time friend of the orchestra, for his generous support for the “Severis Concert Master Chair”, currently held by Michael Barenboim.
All proceeds from the endowment of the chairs go to the orchestra as an institution and enable the orchestra as a whole to keep pursuing its mission. They do not directly benefit the current occupants of the respective chairs.
