Divan Orchestra makes return to Teatro Colón for summer residency

The West-Eastern Divan Orchestra and co-founder Daniel Barenboim return to Buenos Aires’s Teatro Colón this July and August for their annual summer residency.

The residency launches on 29 July and 30 July with duo recitals from Barenboim and longtime collaborator Martha Argerich. On 1 and 2 August, the orchestra takes the stage with Argerich for Shostakovich’s Concerto for Piano, Trumpet & Orchestra No. 1 and Le tombeau de couperin in a program that also includes Ravel’s Suite from “Ma Mère l’Oye” and Berg’s Three Pieces for Orchestra.

Barenboim leads the orchestra in Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 and R. Strauss’s Don Quixote at the Teatro Colón on 5 August and at the Mozarteum Argentino on 6 and 7 August.

Following their residency, the orchestra embarks on European tour with Martha Argerich.
