The West-Eastern Divan Orchestra and Daniel Barenboim come together again around works by Strauss and Tchaikovsky.
27 October | Philharmonie de Paris
28-29 October | Royal Festival Hall, London
The orchestra will present Richard Strauss’s symphonic poem Don Quixote – featuring performances by cellist Kian Soltani, winner of the Leonard Bernstein Award 2017 by the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, and violist Miriam Manasherov – together with Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5.
On October 27 the orchestra will return to the Philharmonie de Paris, and on October 28 and 29 it will perform for the first time at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in London.
The concerts at the Royal Festival Hall will be a tribute to cellist Jacqueline du Pré for the MS Society.
